Where it fits

Fewer missed calls, without adding staff.

Most businesses don’t need a person to answer “what time do you close?” They need a person for the call that actually matters.

After hoursCalls get answered at night and on weekends instead of going to voicemail.
Busy hoursWhen every line is busy, callers get help instead of hold music.
Routine questionsHours, directions, order status and appointments, handled without tying up the front desk.

Compared

AI phone answering service vs. a live answering service.

A live answering service puts a person on the line who works from a script and takes a message. An AI phone answering service answers the same calls, but it can also finish the job.

With a traditional answering service, the caller usually gets a message taken and a promise of a callback. Your staff still has to call back, look up the order, or book the appointment. AI call answering for business can do those routine tasks during the call, because it connects to your calendar, your phone system and, in some cases, your order or job system.

That doesn't mean a person is never needed. The right setup decides, ahead of time, which calls go straight to your team: upset customers, urgent jobs, big quotes. Everything the AI collected goes with the call, so nobody asks the caller to start over.

If you take a lot of calls with agents in queues, a full contact center platform may fit better than AI answering alone. We can show you both. For the bigger picture, read our guide to how AI is changing business phone systems.

How it works

What you have, what could be better, and how we put it in.

1

What you have

We look at your phone bill and how calls come in today: which numbers ring, when, and how many go unanswered.

2

What could be better

We line up the AI phone and CCaaS partners that fit your phone system and your calls, and show you what each one does and costs.

3

How we put it in

You sign in your name. We order it, schedule the setup and handle the cutover of your numbers. After that, problems come to us.

Buyer guide

AI call answering: what to know first.

What it handles, what it should pass to a person, and what to ask before you sign.

What AI call answering does well

  • Picks up every call, including nights, weekends and busy hours.
  • Answers common questions: hours, directions, services, order or job status.
  • Books, moves or cancels appointments.
  • Takes a message with the details your staff need to call back.
  • Routes the caller to the right person or department.

What still needs a person

  • Upset customers, and anything sensitive.
  • Complicated quotes, sales and negotiations.
  • Anything your business decides a person should always handle.

A good setup makes the handoff easy: the caller reaches a person, and the person sees what the AI already collected.

What drives the price

  • Call volume and call length.
  • How many tasks it handles, such as booking, routing or order lookups.
  • Whether it connects to your calendar, CRM or ordering system.
  • Whether it sits on your current phone system or comes with a new one.

Questions to ask any partner

  • How does a caller reach a person, and how fast?
  • Where are call recordings and transcripts stored, and who can see them?
  • Does it work with the phone system you have now?
  • What happens to your numbers if you leave?

Signs it could help

  • Calls go to voicemail after hours or when the front desk is busy.
  • Staff spend the day answering the same few questions.
  • You lose jobs or appointments because nobody called back.

What to send us

A recent phone bill, your main numbers, your business hours, and the questions callers ask most.

Questions

Questions people ask us

Will callers know it's AI?

They should. The good setups say so up front and make it easy to reach a person.

Which AI phone partners do you work with?

We work with the CCaaS and AI phone partners and pick the ones that fit your phone system, your call volume and what you want it to handle.

Do we have to replace our phone system?

Not always. Some partners work with the phone system you have. Others come with a new cloud phone system. We tell you which fits.

What do you charge?

You don't pay us. The partner pays us, your price is the same as going direct, and the contract is in your name.

Who sets it up?

We order it, schedule the setup and handle the cutover with the partner. After that, problems come to us, not the partner's support line.

How is an AI phone answering service different from a live answering service?

A live answering service takes a message for you to return. AI phone answering can also book the appointment, give the order status or route the call during the call, and it sends the calls that need a person to your staff.
